Idea Management and Continuous Improvement System
A platform that turns improvement suggestions into decisions, implementation and measurable results.
The challenge
A large industrial organisation needed to centralise thousands of suggestions, track the evaluation of ideas and measure the benefits achieved throughout the process.
The solution
We developed an innovation management platform covering idea submission, technical evaluation, approval workflow, implementation tracking, benefit calculation and management reporting. The system also supported the management and tracking of proposals, from weekly meetings through to follow-up with 15 Volkswagen departments.

From scattered knowledge to continuous improvement
The system structured the full lifecycle of every proposal: logging, analysis, decision, execution and follow-up. As a result, an idea was no longer just an isolated suggestion — it gained an owner, a status, a history and a measurable impact.

Results and significance
The platform made it possible to manage around 1,500 ideas and track approximately 350 implemented improvements, sustaining a continuous-improvement programme responsible for around €20 million a year in savings.
The work carried out in this context also formed the basis of research conducted as part of an MBA and later published as a book, reinforcing Velocitas Code's experience in critical systems and business innovation.
